＜Sacrificial Anode Corrosion-resistant Coating＞
Corrosion is a frequently met problem in large steel constructions such as bridges, pipelines, oil tanks, towers, overhead walkers and large manufacturing facilities in the metallurgical, energy, chemical industries. This is especially common among ships, offshore platforms and seaports due to exposure to moist atmosphere and seawater. In these cases, the surface to be protected can be thousands or even tens of thousands of square meters and the spray costs consequently, have to be competitive enough versus the traditional painting methods.
Cathodic protection (CP) is an electrochemical reaction to control the corrosion of a metal surface by making it the cathode of an electrochemical cell. A simple method of protection connects the metal to be protected to a more easily corroded "sacrificial metal" to act as the anode, which is also called ”sacrificial anode”. “Sacrificial coating” is our solution of corrosion-resistant to moist and seawater exposures. This kind of thermal spray coating has a cathodic behavior relevant to the ions of the metal, in most of the cases steels, to be protected. The cathodic protective coatings are usually zinc, aluminum or zinc-aluminum. Zinc is more beneficial to alkaline conditions and aluminum performs better in acidic conditions. Sometimes, zinc and titanium are also used in the protection of steel reinforced concrete (SRC).    
The thickness of sacrificial coating ranges between 50 to 500 µm; however, this depends on the constructing environments and customer requirements.
