Overview
This rack-mountable amplifier has been designed for use in both CATV headend and broadband local area network (LAN) applications. The ACI Communications VFA may be used in any network with a bandwidth requirement of 40 to 750 or 40 to 870 MHz. In two-cable networks, it is designed to operate in a one-way mode.
The -M. model VFA will accept plug-in pads and equalizers to achieve gain and slope control; it also features a front panel accessible manual screw adjustment (750 MHz only). On the .-J. model there is no front panel access for gain and slope control; adjustment is made by the use of pads and equalizers only (750 or 870MHz).
Directional coupler test points are available on the front panel to monitor both the input and output RF levels. On the rear panel are RF inputs and output ports with F- type connectors.
