Calcify is one of the difficulties of root canal. It is very difficult to explain how it happened, but there are three reasons for calcify problem:
1● Gingival will become calcify to protect itself after stimulus.
2● Occur on elder or those people who has second root canal therapy.
3● Apply medicine, it will help to create calcify and help to finish root canal therapy. Normally for school-age students.
Teeth without calcify normally will not get calcified after short period treatment, but it will happen during long period stimulus.
If gingival nerves get chronic necrosis, shrinkage or aging by long period of stimulus, the root canal of teeth will get calcified and blocked. However, there are plenty ways to cause calcify problem, such as born calcify, caused by chronic decayed teeth, unknown reason. The diameter will get smaller after calcify and the angle of entry will get more curved. Sometimes patients will not feel pain, it all depends on how worse of their calcify status.
Calcify causes even harder while dentist is trying cleaning root canal.
